Nicknamed \u201cColgen\u201d in Japan, he is well-known for two amazing records combining jazz-fusion and traditional Japanese instruments (\u2018Rock-Joint Biwa\u2019 and \u2018Rock-Joint Cipher\u2019 on the RCA label), jazz-funk oriented albums (\u2018High-Flying\u2019, \u2018Skip Step Cogen\u2019) and the famous record from the <strong>Electro Keyboard Orchestra, <\/strong>his band along with other famous Japanese pianists Yuji Ohno and Hideo Ichikawa.<\/p>\n<p>But, Hiromasa Suzuki was also interested in more classical jazz. In 1978 he released \u2018<strong>Primrose<\/strong>\u2019 on <strong>Union<\/strong> label, a beautiful record of modal jazz, with Nobuyoshi Ino on bass and Steve Jackson on drums.<\/p>\n<p>An absolutely hard-to-find record, even in Japan, \u2018Primrose\u2019 is reissued for the first time in vinyl by Le Tr\u00e8s Jazz Club.
