La face A, “Brother or Other”, d\u00e9marre avec un break de batterie digne du l\u00e9gendaire batteur de la Motown Benny Benjamin, mais interpr\u00e9t\u00e9 ici par Rudy Albin (Sugarman 3). Ce morceau permet \u00e0 James et ses partenaires d\u2019exp\u00e9rimenter un son soul plus direct qu\u2019auparavant. Agr\u00e9ment\u00e9 d’une magnifique m\u00e9lodie au piano et d’un message opportun, le morceau se pose sur un groove mid-tempo suffisamment entra\u00eenant pour emballer les gens sur la piste de danse. Les productions socialement conscientes de Curtis Mayfield viennent \u00e0 l’esprit lorsque James s\u2019exprime. L\u2019autre face, “Never”, est une belle ballade \u00e9vocatrice : une rumba lente et roulante qui vous donnera envie de danser avec la personne que vous aimez, ou que vous souhaitez aimer.
