Lorsque Greg Cartwright de Reigning Sound constituait la tracklist de la compilation Home for Orphans en 2005, il puisait dans une r\u00e9serve d\u2019in\u00e9dits et de raret\u00e9s enregistr\u00e9es \u00e0 divers endroits de sa ville natale de Memphis. L’ann\u00e9e pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente, son groupe avait d\u00e9voil\u00e9 l\u2019album tapageur Too Much Guitar! mais il existait des prises alternatives lentes et maussades de \u00ab\u00a0Funny Thing\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0If You Can’t Give Me Everything\u00a0\u00bb. L\u2019album judicieusement intitul\u00e9 Home for Orphans d\u00e9bute par \u00ab\u00a0Find Me Now\u00a0\u00bb, un joyau au c\u0153ur solitaire qui avait \u00e9t\u00e9 omis de la liste originale de Too Much Guitar! Un autre orphelin du m\u00eame genre est \u00ab\u00a0What Could I Do?\u00a0\u00bb, un exemple brillant de la capacit\u00e9 de Cartwright \u00e0 composer avec go\u00fbt et po\u00e9sie des ballades bouleversantes. Bien s\u00fbr, le fait d’avoir tous les membres originaux de Memphis sur ces sessions ne fait qu’approfondir la gamme dynamique des sons. Avec \u00e0 ses c\u00f4t\u00e9s le bassiste Jeremy Scott, le batteur Greg Roberson et l’organiste Alex Greene, Home for Orphans nous livre ici la structure sonore classique du groupe. Avec le recul, il s’agissait peut-\u00eatre d\u2019un disque de transition. L\u2019album est sorti lors du grand d\u00e9part de Cartwright depuis Memphis dans le Tennessee vers sa r\u00e9sidence actuelle \u00e0 Asheville en Caroline du Nord, et appara\u00eet comme un bel adieu \u00e0 la ville qui l’a tant inspir\u00e9.<\/p>\n
