Apr\u00e8s s’\u00eatre fait conna\u00eetre dans le monde avec Borrowed Floors chez Water Wing en 2016 et avoir r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 relever le d\u00e9fi du deuxi\u00e8me album avec Mating Surfaces en 2018 sur le label Kill Rock Stars, Lithics passe chez Trouble In Mind pour Tower of Age, leur troisi\u00e8me album studio enregistr\u00e9 au Red Lantern Studio de Portland par Evan Mersky et masteris\u00e9 par Timothy Stollenwerk (Morphine, The Dandy Warhols, Woods, Wooden Shjips). Ce nouvel album regorge d’inventivit\u00e9, d\u00e9ployant un dada\u00efsme lyrique dans les recoins du minimalisme rythmique propre au groupe. On a l\u00e0 une musique en ellipses. Une communication circulaire et une fusion de plusieurs ann\u00e9es d\u2019id\u00e9es musicales dans une unique r\u00e9fraction de la pens\u00e9e et du son. Les guitares vibrent et grincent, les rythmes sont syncop\u00e9s et \u00e9troitement li\u00e9s \u00e0 la philosophie d’un imagiste qui n’utilise absolument aucun mot qui ne servirait pas la repr\u00e9sentation. L’approche aust\u00e8re du groupe en mati\u00e8re de composition et de songwriting les \u00e9l\u00e8vent bien au del\u00e0 des groupes actuels \u00e0 la recherche d\u2019un son similaire ; le plus important n\u2019est pas qu’ils utilisent moins de mots, mais comment ils en utilisent moins.<\/p>\n
