Enregistr\u00e9 \u00e0 Tokyo les 2 et 25 avril 1969 ce disque est paru la m\u00eame ann\u00e9e sur le label Union. Sur les deux longs premiers morceaux qui ouvrent cet album, \u00ab\u00a0Four Units\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0Dull Slumber\u00a0\u00bb, on ressent l\u2019influence de la sc\u00e8ne avant-garde du jazz US (et notamment ESP Disk), sans toutefois que les morceaux sonnent trop free. Toute autre ambiance sur l\u2019\u00e9tonnante reprise de \u00ab\u00a0Sarborough Fair\u00a0\u00bb, dans un style modal, o\u00f9 l\u2019ombre de McCoy Tyner semble planer sur le piano. Les deux morceaux suivants, \u00ab\u00a0Rainbow Trout\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0Black Bass\u00a0\u00bb, restent dans cette lign\u00e9e, oscillant parfois vers le hard bop, l\u2019album finissant en apoth\u00e9ose avec un solo de Masahiko Togashi.
