Johnson<\/strong> (Bonny Light Horseman, The Shins). Ce po\u00e8me tonal se d\u00e9roule sur plus de six minutes avec seulement deux accords, inspir\u00e9 par les parades d\u2019animaux de compagnie de son enfance qui se tenaient \u00e0 La Grange, dans la banlieue de Chicago. Alors que de nombreuses chansons de The Pet Parade ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9crites avant la pand\u00e9mie, il est impossible de dissocier le disque de l\u2019\u00e9poque. En effet, le producteur Josh Kaufman<\/strong> (Bob Weir, The National, Bonny Light Horseman), Eric D. Johnson<\/strong>, les batteurs Joe Russo<\/strong> et Matt Barrick<\/strong> (The Walkmen, Fleet Foxes), l’auteure, compositrice et interpr\u00e8te Johanna Samuels<\/strong>, le pianiste Thomas Bartlett<\/strong> (Nico Muhly, Sufjan Stevens) et le violoniste Jim Becker<\/strong> (Califone, Iron & Wine) ont \u00e9t\u00e9 contraints d’enregistrer leurs parties s\u00e9par\u00e9ment. Les chansons ont pourtant suffisamment d’intimit\u00e9 pour ne pas sembler avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 enregistr\u00e9es \u00e0 des milliers de kilom\u00e8tres de distance. Cette tension et tourmente ont impact\u00e9 les paroles de l\u2019album.\u00a0 \u00ab\u00a0Cub Pilot\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong> et \u00ab\u00a0Here For Now, For You\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong> qui avaient commenc\u00e9 comme des chansons d’amour traditionnelles et personnelles sont devenues inclusives et universelles. \u00ab\u00a0The Balcony\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong> qui se r\u00e9f\u00e8re \u00e0 l\u2019appartement de sa grand-m\u00e8re s\u2019est transform\u00e9 en une m\u00e9taphore sur la patience. Parfois optimiste et rassurante (\u00ab\u00a0Eagles Below Us\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong>), parfois tranquillement contemplative (\u00ab\u00a0On the Avalon Stairs\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong>), The Pet Parade<\/strong><\/em> marque une \u00e9tape importante pour Johnson<\/strong>, qui c\u00e9l\u00e8bre les 20 ans de Fruit Bats<\/strong> en 2021\u2026\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
