Sorti sous forme de cassette surprise le 17 avril 2020, Songs for Pierre Chuvin est le premier album enti\u00e8rement boombox des Mountain Goats depuis All Hail West Texas (2002). Apr\u00e8s avoir vendu plus de 4000 cassettes en l\u2019espace de quelques minutes, Mountain Goats a \u00e9t\u00e9 pourchass\u00e9 par les fans avides qui en voulaient toujours plus. Chose dite, chose faite pour Merge Records qui propose une nouvelle \u00e9dition de l\u2019album. Un album inspir\u00e9 du livre Chronique des Derniers Pa\u00efens de Pierre Chuvin, historien fran\u00e7ais sp\u00e9cialiste de la Gr\u00e8ce antique, d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 en 2016. Un choix finalement pas si surprenant lorsque l\u2019on conna\u00eet Darnielle, habitu\u00e9 des albums aux concepts touchants et fantaisistes.<\/p>\n
