Alors que les chansons tonitruantes de l’album Jet Plane and Oxbow (Sub Pop) de 2016 du groupe \u00e9taient remplies de craintes pour ce que les \u00c9tats-Unis devenaient sous l’administration pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente, Jonathan a r\u00e9solu de trouver une nouvelle approche pour The Great Awakening. Il se sentait d\u00e9sesp\u00e9r\u00e9 mais ne voulait pas cr\u00e9er une musique n\u2019offrant aucun espoir. The Great Awakening est un voyage immersif et plein d’\u00e2me, compos\u00e9 d’atmosph\u00e8res grandioses et de paysages intimes, agr\u00e9ment\u00e9 d’enregistrements de terrain r\u00e9alis\u00e9s lors de la r\u00e9daction de son premier livre, A Most Remarkable Creature (Knopf, 2021), qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 salu\u00e9 par la critique. L’album de 11 titres qui en r\u00e9sulte – ancr\u00e9 par sa voix enregistr\u00e9e de pr\u00e8s, plus \u00e9trange et urgente que jamais – est celui que Shearwater s’efforce d’atteindre depuis des ann\u00e9es : un voyage vers l’inconnu, embrassant la tristesse et la joie, la beaut\u00e9 et la terreur.<\/p>\n
