Joan Shelley revient avec The Spur, son premier nouvel album en trois ans. Cet ensemble de douze chansons est une profonde m\u00e9ditation sur la lumi\u00e8re et l’obscurit\u00e9, enregistr\u00e9e au printemps 2021 \u00e0 Earthwave Farm dans la campagne du Kentucky alors que Joan \u00e9tait enceinte de sept mois de son premier enfant. Co-produit avec James Elkington, l’album comprend des collaborations de Bill Callahan, Meg Baird et le romancier britannique Max Porter, ainsi que Nathan Salsburg, le partenaire musical et \u00e9poux de la musicienne de Louisville. \u00c9crit entre l’automne 2019 et l’automne 2020, l\u2019album est le r\u00e9sultat d’une p\u00e9riode d’extr\u00eames oppos\u00e9s : d’hyper-connexion intellectuelle et d’isolement physique. Il est \u00e0 jamais li\u00e9 au souvenir de leur mariage, de la naissance de leur enfant, et \u00e0 une joie intense malgr\u00e9 l’obscurit\u00e9.<\/p>\n
