ALL HANDS_MAKE LIGHT est le nouveau duo d’Ariel Engle (La Force, Patrick Watson, Broken Social Scene) et Efrim Manuel Menuck (Godspeed You ! Black Emperor, Thee Silver Mt. Zion). Amis de longue date, collaborateurs et piliers de la communaut\u00e9 post-punk de Montr\u00e9al, il s’agit de leur premier v\u00e9ritable projet ensemble. AH_ML tisse ces deux voix uniques \u00e0 travers des sons lustr\u00e9s et des drones gonfl\u00e9s, d\u00e9veloppant le travail \u00e9ponyme de Menuck sur synth\u00e9s modulaires et analogiques, en l\u2019impr\u00e9gnant d’une chaleur et d’un m\u00e9lodisme plus br\u00fblants et chaleureux gr\u00e2ce au chant d’Engle. Darling The Dawn est un album envo\u00fbtant de sonorit\u00e9s et de compositions qui m\u00e9langent les genres de fa\u00e7on prodigieuse : une sorte de shoegaze \u00e9lectronique impr\u00e9gn\u00e9 de freak-folk, de krautrock, de darkwave et de post-industriel, passant du minimalisme ambient au maximalisme pulsant. Pour Engle et Menuck, ALL HANDS_MAKE LIGHT s’inscrit dans une lign\u00e9e folk qui va de Pentangle et Trees \u00e0 White Magic et Amps For Christ, bien qu’il n’y ait pas de guitare ou d’instrumentation acoustique discernable sur l’album (des synth\u00e9s chauds et distordus fournissent la palette, ainsi que le violon transform\u00e9 par Jessica Moss). \u00ab\u00a0We Live On A Fucking Planet And Baby That’s The Sun\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0The Sons And Daughters Of Poor Eternal\u00a0\u00bb pr\u00e9sentent la batterie resplendissante de Liam O’Neil (Suuns).
