Du studio le plus bon march\u00e9 de l’ouest de Chicago provient un document de musique soul inconnue et remarquablement excentrique, produit enti\u00e8rement lors de sessions nocturnes apr\u00e8s la fin des journ\u00e9es de travail et des d\u00eeners en famille. Avec \u00e0 peine plus qu’un orgue Hammond, un piano et un magn\u00e9tophone \u00e0 deux pistes, l’entreprise de Gene Cash est rapidement devenue une destination pour les groupes locaux de gospel et de rhythm and blues qui cherchaient \u00e0 enregistrer un disque pour quelques centimes. \u00c0 partir de 1967, Cash a publi\u00e9 des centaines de singles sur ses labels Cash, Coin, Jade et C.R.A., tous des titres obscurs \u00e0 partir du moment o\u00f9 ils sont sortis des presses.
