Big Black a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 par Steve Albini en 1982 alors qu’il fr\u00e9quentait la Northwestern University \u00e0 Evanston, dans l’Illinois. Lungs, la premi\u00e8re sortie de Big Black, a \u00e9t\u00e9 enregistr\u00e9e par Steve sur un 4 pistes emprunt\u00e9. Steve Albini y joue de tous les instruments lui-m\u00eame – \u00e0 l’exception du saxophone de son ami John Bohnen et de la batterie de Roland. Peu apr\u00e8s, Steve recrute Jeff Pezzati \u00e0 la basse et Santiago Durango \u00e0 la guitare, tous les deux de Naked Raygun. En 1984, le groupe fait quelques tourn\u00e9es et enregistre l’EP Racer X.<\/p>\n
