Ce 45 tours pr\u00e9sente deux nouveaux artistes issus de l’univers toujours plus vaste de Colemine : Pale Jay, un artiste en herbe, et Steve Okonksi (sous le nom d’Okonski) de Durand Jones and the Indications. La face A est une collaboration entre les deux artistes, une version neo soul de l’air de piano d’Okonski, \u00e0 la fois poignante et optimiste. Lorsqu’il a entendu la chanson d’Okonski, \u00ab\u00a0Runner Up\u00a0\u00bb, tir\u00e9e de son prochain album, Pale Jay a \u00e9crit By The Lake dans les trente minutes qui ont suivi, apr\u00e8s avoir d\u00e9coup\u00e9 les samples de piano d’Okonski. La face B, \u201cRunner Up\u201d, reprend le titre original d’Okonski. Enregistr\u00e9 au si\u00e8ge de Colemine \u00e0 Loveland, dans l’Ohio, il pr\u00e9sente une m\u00e9lodie triomphante mais m\u00e9lancolique au piano qui m\u00e8ne \u00e0 une section plus r\u00e9serv\u00e9e, men\u00e9e par la batterie et la basse d’Aaron Frazer et de Michael Isvara \u00ab\u00a0Ish\u00a0\u00bb Montgomery.
