Sub Pop est ravi de c\u00e9l\u00e9brer le 30e anniversaire du premier album de Six Finger Satellite, The Pigeon Is the Most Popular Bird, avec une toute nouvelle r\u00e9\u00e9dition enti\u00e8rement remasteris\u00e9e. Form\u00e9 en 1990 \u00e0 Providence, dans l’\u00c9tat de Rhode Island, par J. Ryan (chanteur\/clavier), John MacLean (guitare), Peter Phillips (guitare), Chris Dixon (basse) et Rick Pelletier (batterie), Six Finger Satellite a rapidement sign\u00e9 chez Sub Pop pour l’EP Weapon. Apr\u00e8s Weapon, le groupe se lance rapidement dans l’enregistrement de son premier album avec Bob Weston (Shellac). Sorti en 1993, The Pigeon Is the Most Popular Bird est le premier album \u00e0 capturer v\u00e9ritablement l’esprit et le son aventureux et mordant de Six Finger Satellite. L’album est une r\u00e9f\u00e9rence en mati\u00e8re de post-punk noisy et angoissant, influenc\u00e9 par Gang of Four, The Birthday Party et Wire, tout en ajoutant une bonne dose d’antagonisme sonore propre au groupe. The Pigeon Is the Most Popular Bird contient des touches de clavier et des exp\u00e9rimentations en studio qui deviendront plus importantes sur les derniers albums du groupe, annon\u00e7ant LCD Soundsystem, DFA Records et une grande partie du renouveau post-punk du d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 2000.<\/span><\/p>\n
