En 1969, apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 pendant trois ans la Soul Sister n\u00b01 de l’entourage de James Brown, Marva Whitney rentre \u00e0 Kansas City, remettant le label Forte d’Ellis Taylor sur le devant de la sc\u00e8ne. \u00c0 ce stade-l\u00e0, Forte avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 fait plus que d\u00e9couvrir Marvelous Marva et l\u2019amener sur sc\u00e8ne. Ellis Taylor a \u00e9galement apport\u00e9 au monde The Rayons et The Four Darlings qui en 1968 ont fait leur entr\u00e9e avec leurs voix enfum\u00e9es sur \u00ab\u00a0Give Me Love\u00a0\u00bb. Au milieu des 70s, le label sort \u201cSuper Black\u201d de Everyday People, puis s\u2019essaye au disco funk dans les ann\u00e9es 80 avec \u00ab\u00a0Reaching for Our Star\u00a0\u00bb de Sharon Revoal. Eccentric Soul : The Forte Label retrace le travail des artisans de Kansas City. En 28 titres, plus une foule de photos de promo et d’\u00e9tiquettes de toutes les couleurs d\u00e9taillant toutes les it\u00e9rations du logo de Forte, ce volet d\u2019Eccentric Soul nous fait d\u00e9couvrir des titres qui font vibrer les pistes de danse.
