Fyear est un ensemble montr\u00e9alais dirig\u00e9 par le compositeur Jason Sharp et le po\u00e8te\/\u00e9crivain Kaie Kellough qui fusionne le spoken word dans des compositions uniques interpr\u00e9t\u00e9es par deux voix, deux batteurs, le saxophone, la guitare pedal steel, les violons et l\u2019\u00e9lectronique. Fyear incorpore drone, out-jazz, post-classique, ambient metal, avant-rock et synth\u00e8se modulaire dans une palette sonore et stylistique \u00e0 l’oppos\u00e9 du collage ou du pastiche : l’ensemble FYEAR int\u00e8gre une esth\u00e9tique unique et unifi\u00e9e tout en traversant un terrain aventureux et vari\u00e9. Ce premier album \u00e9ponyme est une \u0153uvre multi-mouvements de 40 minutes extr\u00eamement innovante ; une d\u00e9claration d’intention ardente qui exploite l’interzone o\u00f9 Saul Williams, Moor Mother\/Irreversible Entanglements, Shabazz Palaces, Zulu, Angel Bat Dawid, Damon Locks\/Black Monument Ensemble, Shabaka Hutchings et Matana Roberts sont tous des voisins iconoclastes.
