M\u00e9lange audacieux de soul, de psych\u00e9d\u00e9lique, de western spaghetti, de disco, de gospel et de hip-hop, Into the Blue, le deuxi\u00e8me album solo du multi-instrumentiste Aaron Frazer (de Durand Jones & The Indications) repr\u00e9sente l’\u00e9ventail impressionnant de ses talents sonores. Il y conserve le falsetto inimitable et l’\u00e9criture classique qui ont fait sa r\u00e9putation, mais place Into The Blue fermement dans le pr\u00e9sent, avec une mentalit\u00e9 hip-hop au c\u0153ur de l’album, en tissant diff\u00e9rents genres et m\u00e9thodes de production pour cr\u00e9er quelque chose de nouveau. Into The Blue a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7u, comme tant d’autres disques classiques, \u00e0 partir d’un v\u00e9ritable chagrin d’amour. Aaron a quitt\u00e9 Brooklyn pour Los Angeles et s’est embarqu\u00e9 dans un voyage qui se refl\u00e8te dans les th\u00e8mes de l’album : le chagrin, la solitude et la recherche de la gu\u00e9rison. Aaron Frazer a \u00e9crit sur chaque morceau et a jou\u00e9 plusieurs instruments sur l’album. L’album comporte des moments d’arrangements grandioses, rappelant David Axelrod et Ennio Morricone, contrebalanc\u00e9s par un c\u00f4t\u00e9 brut, incorporant des enregistrements sur iPhone et des voix en une seule prise. Pour Into the Blue, Aaron Frazer a fait appel \u00e0 Alex Goose, laur\u00e9at d’un Grammy, en tant que coproducteur. Ce dernier est connu pour ses recherches et ses collaborations avec des artistes hip-hop tels que Freddie Gibbs, Madlib ou encore Brockhampton. Aaron a \u00e9galement exp\u00e9riment\u00e9 les samples pour la premi\u00e8re fois sur un disque, en puisant dans des sources inattendues comme le groupe R&B des ann\u00e9es 90 Hi-Five.
