Avant m\u00eame la sortie de leur premier EP Scratch Acid en 1984, le propri\u00e9taire de Touch and Go Records, Corey Rusk, \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 devenu un grand fan du groupe. \u00c0 l&rsquo;\u00e9poque, Scratch Acid s&rsquo;\u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 engag\u00e9 \u00e0 travailler avec Rabid Cat Records. Le groupe a rapidement d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 une esth\u00e9tique de performance fascinante et, alors que le premier EP faisait le tour du pays via les fanzines, les radios universitaires et le bouche-\u00e0-oreille, le groupe a organis\u00e9 de courtes tourn\u00e9es dans le Midwest et sur la c\u00f4te Est. Corey a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 booker des concerts avec Scratch Acid \u00e0 Detroit, afin de pouvoir les voir jouer et les rencontrer.
