Travers\u00e9 par des doutes intimes et des blocages artistiques, le musicien choisit pourtant de faire confiance \u00e0 ses instincts, de s&rsquo;abandonner \u00e0 l&rsquo;inspiration, aussi impr\u00e9visible soit-elle. Chaque morceau devient alors une mani\u00e8re d\u2019exorciser ses d\u00e9mons int\u00e9rieurs et de c\u00e9l\u00e9brer les petites victoires cr\u00e9atives, dans une s\u00e9rie de chansons qui parlent, justement, de ce que cela signifie d\u2019\u00e9crire des chansons. Le r\u00e9sultat est un disque foisonnant, libre et multiple, tiss\u00e9 d\u2019influences allant du folk mid-century de Michael Hurley ou Karen Dalton \u00e0 l\u2019indie pop de Yo La Tengo ou Stereolab. Chaque titre a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7u diff\u00e9remment, dans des contextes vari\u00e9s, loin d\u2019un sch\u00e9ma unique de production.
